What I’ve been working on this week – Glenn

This week i’ve being doing a small advert for the dark side, Microsoft. 40 Second animation detailing their new Fizzbook, laptop for kids. It was fun.. i quite enjoyed it. Later this week i’m diving into character animation, a small batman PC advert ..more posts to come. This project was really helped out by Cinema 4D, worled amazingly across platform and the Net render took 16 hour off the render time total.. for me C4d is almost like a sketch book, i can approve jobs with clients using simple animation wireframes within c4D then its just a case of re-timeing and polishing the render.

What I’m working on – again (Chris)

http://vimeo.com/8159579

Hey guys,

Been busy working on a piece of coursework for uni. Had to recreate a room using only 3DS Max so I decided to create my bedroom, seeing as I’m sat in it when I’m working. Wouldn’t let me post the video up for some reason so just click on the link above and let me know what you guys think. I’ve really enjoyed doing this project so any criticism you can give woud be grrat because it means I can go back and work on it some more.

Cheers,

Chris

Project 7 (Jo) Render 1

So i’m doing the mechanical zoo and i’m doing the animals seperatly. My first animal is a giraffe. I found the skin texture and a wood texture and used the bump effect to make it look like its make from wood. I can only do 640×400 renders because it’s a demo

Studio Lighting

I think it wouldn’t be too harsh for me to say everyones CG rendered images lack a lot in the subject lighting. Lighting in 3D is no different than lighting in the real world, have a play around with some real lights and make notes how light effects natural objects. Try diffusing the light with paper.

Try this great tutorial for Cinema 4D on how to build a good light set up.
